April 13, 2022We are delighted to announce that Siri Nodland, secretary general of Fundraising Norway, has been appointed as chair of EFA’s Certification Committee. She leads a fantastic group of fundraising and professional development experts, and academics.
Developed with EU funding, EFA Certification is a framework for national fundraising qualifications, enabling fundraising bodies and educational providers to develop their own professional qualifications around a common set of fundraising competencies. By completing an EFA certified qualification, fundraisers can build their knowledge and skills, with a credential that bridges national boundaries. There are currently ten such qualifications available for fundraisers across Europe.
Speaking about her new role, Nodland said:
“Through EFA’s Certification scheme, we have a huge opportunity to help fundraisers across Europe gain access to professional qualifications that reflect the specifics of fundraising in their nation. I’m delighted to take up the role as Chair, particularly now as we work towards our next goal of introducing an advanced qualification framework for fundraising.”
The Committee is currently working towards developing an Advanced Certification scheme for fundraising. Fellow committee members include Andrea Caracciolo di Feroleto at ASSIF (Italy), Paul Dalby at Deutscher Fundraising Verband (Germany), Glenys Garth-Thornton at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (UK), Ian MacQuillin at Rogare (UK) and Antonella Salvatore at the John Cabot University (Italy).
Nodland picks up the reins from former chair and current EFA president, Charlotte Rydh, secretary general of Give Sweden.
