The EFA Certification Committee has met for the first time under its new chair Andrea Caracciolo di Feroleto of Italian Fundraising Association ASSIF.
The meeting took place on 29 June at the Goede Doelen offices in Amsterdam to discuss future developments of EFA Certification. The meeting also welcomed new members Charlotte Rydh, Secretary General of the Swedish Fundraising Council FRII, and Pia Tornikoski, Secretary General of the Finnish Fundraising Association VaLa.
EFA Certification is a framework for the development of national qualifications for fundraising, which are based on a core syllabus and a set of fundraising competencies. The EFA Certification Committee is responsible for assessing and certifying national fundraising qualifications in Europe. Once approved by the Committee, qualifications are accredited and recognised internationally.
Over 4,570 fundraisers in 13 countries now hold an EFA Certified qualification. Currently, fundraising qualifications are available in 10 European nations; Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
