Call for Speakers for EFA Skillshare 2020

For the first time, EFA is opening up its flagship annual Skillshare event beyond its membership, issuing a call for national fundraising experts to present a short session as part of a virtual European Fundraising Tour.

Taking place on 27 November (10am-1pm CET), the Tour will be the focal point of this year’s annual Skillshare, featuring a series of 8-minute presentations (including time for a question or two), each from a different European country. The tour will offer Skillshare delegates fascinating insights into the latest fundraising developments across the continent.

In recent years, presentations have featured innovative and inspirational fundraising campaigns, new research on philanthropy, the sector’s handling of media crises, best practice guidelines, regulatory and advocacy processes, and a range of developments in charities’ use of digital, contactless payment and more. The main criteria for being selected is inspiration and relevance for other European fundraisers and fundraising organisations.

Eduard Marček, EFA President and co-founder of the Slovak Fundraising Centre, says:

“Traditionally, Skillshare has been an annual event for national fundraising association representatives, but the transition to a virtual environment has enabled us to open up the event to a much wider audience. EFA is opening up to new members and we want the Tour to reflect this. Diversity and inspiration for others has always been at its core. The European tour – unique to other fundraising events – has long been a highlight of our Skillshare programme and we’re looking forward to welcoming an even broader pool of speakers.”
