June 3, 2020European philanthropy and social investment networks have come together to create the Unitus Europe hub, aimed at supporting and strengthening the funder response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The European philanthropy and social investing impact hub is a joint initiative from Donors and Foundations Networks in Europe (DAFNE), European Foundation Centre (EFC), European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA), Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG) and Network of European Foundations (NEF).
Its objective is to support and guide suppliers of funding, such as foundations, social investors and public funders, throughout the survival and revival phases related to the Covid-19 crisis, with a focus on trans-national and cross-border activities in Europe, and those further afield.
It will provide a space for sharing information, resources, and good practices, as well as guidance and support for funders, and work to catalyse and coordinate activities, identify gaps and opportunities and inspire initiatives.
Philanthropic organisations and social investors, as well as global players that are active in Europe are invited to meet and join forces with other private and public funders through the hub with the aim of fostering a collaborative and cohesive response to the crisis that delivers the best possible impact for beneficiaries.
