July 10, 2019The German Fundraising Association, Deutscher Fundraising Verband (DFRV,) has elected a new leadership team, with Martin Georgi taking over as chair and Manuela Ewert as vice-chair.
The new board members were elected at DFRV’s general assembly in May and succeed the former chair and vice chair, Dr. Martin Dodenhoeft and Susanne Wohmann.
Consultant and fundraising expert Martin Georgi has held a variety of leadership roles throughout his career, including at the European Youth Forum, CBM (Christoffel-Blindenmission), Amnesty International Germany and Aktion Mensch.
Speaking of his appointment, Georgi said:
“My main concern is to ensure that the association grows and becomes more visible in politics and society over the next few years, while also taking into account newer European and international perspectives.”
Manuela Ewert also has many years of experience in the third sector and is a full-time project coordinator for telephone fundraising campaigns at the German Donor Assistance Service (Deutscher Spendenhilfsdienst).
Commenting on their elections to the board, managing director Larissa M. Probst said:
“With Martin Georgi, Manuela Ewert and the rest of the board we have a strong, well-networked team at the head of the German Fundraising Association. I’m really looking forward to working with them and moving the association forward.”
