The charity sector has supported the launch of the new Fundraising Regulator, which took up the reins from the Fundraising Standards Board on 7th July. The regulator is tasked with ensuring the protection of donors to charities based in England and Wales. A separate regulatory scheme is being put in place for charities registered in Scotland and discussions around Northern Ireland are still in progress.
The UK charity sector has raised concerns about the negative impact of the Brexit vote, which saw 52 per cent of the nation opt to leave the EU in a shock referendum result that appeared to surprise none more than the Brits themselves.
Private funding is set to increase amongst NGOs in Finland, according to research from market research company Taloustutkimus.
Taloustutkimus interviewed 121 nonprofit organisations in April this year, 93% of which had received public funding over the past year, with their reported fundraising targets from private sources having doubled since 2014.
