The European Payments Council is reviewing submissions to its consultation on the SEPA Rulebooks, which serve as a guide to payment service providers.
Although the official completion date for migration to SEPA has already passed (on 01 August 2014) and an estimated 2 billion payments a month are now being transferred in the new standardised format, concerns have been raised that there is not enough clarity over the acceptable mandating methods.
The European Fundraising Association and fellow national fundraising associations have submitted consultation responses, seeking clarification within the Rulebooks that SEPA mandating methods are not restricted to physically signed paper documents and the e-Mandate
With many nations using different e-mandating methods, It is likely that the EPC will aim to standardise this process, ensuring greater consistency of digital payments across Europe.
The European Fundraising Association will advise fundraising organisations of any further progress in this area.
